Valentine : My tribute to my love – Travel

Valentine : My tribute to my love – Travel

It’s that time of the year again, when love is in the air!  My love is dedicated to the one thing that I am passionate about and that is traveling! So here is my tribute to my love: Travel.

VALENTINE

I do not possess wild imaginations

that try to catch up with

love & infatuations;

Nor do I dream

of strawberry & cream.

Valentine: My tribute to my love - travel - Strawberries & Cream

I do not have whims & fancies

of chocolate cake & candies;

Nor can I to you express

my heart’s constant distress.

Valentine: My tribute to my love - travel - Roses & Pines

I hope not for flowers

of roses and pines;

Nor of candlelight dinner

of champagne & wine.

But just to be with you

through thick and thin;

to be always true to you

when we lose or win.

Valentine: My tribute to my love - travel.

How can I tell you

about my love for you?

How can you know

my heart’s sorrow?

Please reach out to me

and try to find and see;

If I am worthy of thee

be my Valentine and Marry me!

—-Composed by Maria Lewis

This is a poem which I had written while I was still in school and which got published in one of the local Newspapers! I have a few poems to my name and thought that someday, I might publish my own little book of poems. Little did I know then, that I could publish my poem on my own website.

What is this about my love for travel that makes the world go round? At this point I would like to recall a recent blog post written by my Travel Blogging Mentor – Matthew Kepnes; an American travel expert, New York Times bestselling author, and blogger who mentions in his blog-post: Everyone says I’m running away.

An excerpt from the above post:

I’m not sure why, but there is this perception out there that anyone who travels long term and isn’t interested in settling down or getting a conventional job must be running away from something.

And to all those people who say that, I say to you—you’re right.

I’m running away from your idea of the “real” world.

When I read Matt’s article: Everyone says I’m running away.  It suddenly all made sense to me. And I keep looking back at my recent article:  The Year 2018: A Leap of Faith and can’t help smiling every time I read it. This can only happen when you are following your bliss or have found the love of your life!

Wishing all of you a very Happy Valentine’s Day!

On that note, I will take your leave, till then keep traveling and keep sharing your stories here!
